About me
Hi, I'm Robin.
I grew up in Hurdegaryp, a village in Friesland, and I still live there. I'm in my second year of Marketing Management at NHL Stenden. Next to that I run Broersmarketing, where I build AI automations and websites. This site started as my school portfolio. This page is about the rest.

How I got here.
At Firda I did the MBO programme Junior Account Manager. Honestly, I picked it because I didn't know what else to choose. By the end I wanted to know more about the same topics, so I went on to HBO. Now I study the same field at NHL Stenden, at a higher level and in English.
During my MBO I did two internships. From August 2023 to June 2024 I worked two days a week at Bakker Goedhart. They make filled rolls for almost every petrol station and most supermarkets in the Netherlands, under their own label The Bread Office and under supermarket labels. From September 2024 to March 2025 I worked three days a week at Meerdijk Advies. That one wasn't a good fit for me. It still taught me something useful: I like this field, but I had a lot to learn.
Since October 2023 I've also worked part-time at Albert Heijn in Leeuwarden, in the fresh department.

What I'm good at.
Three things I'm sure of. Marketing itself? I'm still finding out which part of it suits me best. That's part of why I'm in school.
Numbers
I've invested in stocks and crypto for almost three years. I'm good at the calculations behind a business: a break-even point, a balance sheet, whether something actually pays off.
AI
I think AI is the biggest change of the next five to ten years, and if you only start learning once it's everywhere, you're too late. So I started now: four Anthropic certificates, and tools I built myself that I use every day.
Thinking it through
I like to take a problem apart before I start on it. DISC calls me a Strategist, and that fits.
Things I've built.
Broersmarketing is my side business since July 2026. The idea is simple: businesses lose hours on admin nobody enjoys. I build automations that take that work over, so people get time back for the work they actually want to do.
I don't have paying clients yet. What I've built so far is for myself, and it runs every day.
What drives me
I wanted to help people and businesses long before I knew how. AI automation turned out to be the how: I build something, and someone's day gets easier. That feeling is the whole reason.

What I'm like to work with.
In a group I notice who's quiet. When someone isn't saying much, I ask them something small. Usually that's enough for them to join in. Below are two views of the same person: the brand I'm building on purpose, and the profile a DISC survey gave back to me.
How I want to come across
Warm. Honest. Sharp.
Say it straight
I won't pretend I have twenty years behind me. I don't. I tell people what I can build and what I can't, and I would rather lose a job than oversell one.
Build first, then talk
It started on YouTube. I watched people build websites and AI tools and thought: I can do that myself. So I did. A working thing beats a plan for a thing.
Show up
Four to five training sessions a week got me to 120 kg on the bench press. The number is nice. The habit of showing up when I don't feel like it is the real result.
How DISC reads me
The Strategist (Cd)
Q4 Profiles places me as a Strategist: a free thinker who wants to find better ways of doing things, and wants them precise and complete. I focus more on processes than on people. These are the four parts I recognise, each with a moment from my own life.
- I prefer to work alone
- I want it precise and complete
- I turn ideas into processes
- I push back quietly
Outside work.

Football
I've played for VV Hurdegaryp since I was five or six, in almost every position. In 2022 we became Hoofdklasse champions with the under-19s. I still play, mostly for the team: the chats with friends before and after training and matches.
Running
In 2025 I ran my first marathon, the WinterMarathon Leeuwarden, in 3:29:40. I wanted a real goal to end the year with, something outside my comfort zone. The hardest part wasn't the race. It was the long Sunday runs the day after a match.
Gym
Four or five times a week. It keeps me disciplined, also on days I don't feel like it.
Books
One or two a month, mostly before bed. It's a smaller dopamine hit than scrolling, and I sleep better. Two that stuck: Atomic Habits by James Clear, because one percent better every day adds up, and that works the other way round too. And Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins, because you can do more than you think. Right now I'm reading The Ape That Understood the Universe by Steve Stewart-Williams. It's a new kind of book for me and I'm struggling a bit, but I like it.
