The brief

Choose a course or training of at least 10 to 15 hours that helps me towards my learning goals, and agree the choice with my PPD coach. Link the content to at least two skills, explain why it matters for a future marketing manager, add the certificate, and reflect on what I take with me. Summarise it in a screencast video of three to five minutes.

  • 10 to 15 hours, agreed with my coach
  • Linked to at least two skills
  • Certificate or proof of participation
  • Explainer video of 3 to 5 minutes
  • Reflection: what I take with me and how I apply it

My approach

  1. 1

Learn the basics behind my sites

Last semester I completed four Anthropic certificates and built real tools with Claude Code. This time I wanted some experience with creating websites myself, and the basic knowledge behind them: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how a site is built, deployed and tested. So I chose Web Development Fundamentals by IBM SkillsBuild, 12 hours.

  2. 2

    Two skills, one test

Curiosity and future agility are the obvious links. The real test is communication: can I explain it to someone who does not build things?

  3. 3

Apply every module within a week

I don't just watch. Every module gets used on a real project the same week, and I write down what worked and what I got wrong.

  4. 4

    The video: three questions

A screen recording of three to five minutes that answers what I learned, why it matters for a marketing manager, and how I use it.

  5. 5

    Reuse it for LinkedIn

The same course becomes the article for assignment 4, so I pick the one insight worth writing about while I'm still in the course.

Reflection

Reflection tool: Kolb's learning cycle

Written after the course and the video.

Experience, reflection, concept, experiment. A course is exactly that loop.

  1. 1Experience: what was new, and what did I already know from last semester?
  2. 2Reflection: where did I get stuck, and what surprised me?
  3. 3Concept: what is the one idea I would explain to a classmate who has never looked at code?
  4. 4Experiment: where did I apply it within a week, and what changed in what I offer clients?
